Write “Animal Farm” Essay
Write a 2-3 page, double spaced, 12 pt font paper on the following question:
What does “Animal Farm” teach about leadership? Use three (or more) examples from the book to support your opinion.
A few notes to remember:
- Your thesis should be clear and provable.
- If you use sources other than the book to support your thesis (e.g., quotes, stories, historical facts) be sure to give credit by including a works cited page.
- Avoid the informal use of “you” and “I” in your paper.
- Use present tense when writing about an author’s work and events in the story. Literary works exist in the eternal present! (E.g., In Animal farm, Orwell argues…; Boxer wakes up earlier and works harder…)
Please bring two copies of your paper to class – one copy with your writing mentor’s comments, and a final copy with revisions.
If you use Google Docs to work with your writing mentor, it can be a little confusing to figure out how to print the paper with their comments. Here is an article that explains how to do this.

Good luck! You’ve got this!!
